The Food and Agricultural
Organisation (FAO), has warned of the possibility of food shortage
in the coming months following a new cassava disease which is
affecting large parts of North and North Eastern Uganda.
The
food agency, in its February report released on Wednesday indicates
that cassava, which is widely consumed in many parts of the
country, has widely been attacked by the Cassava Brown Streak
Disease (CBSD), putting a crucial source of food and income at
risk.
